It was that winter cold of barren death type of night. Technically early morning, sometime between two and three. Alcohol pulsed through my blood as I stumbled along through the forest of buildings in the financial district, tall goliaths of business, asleep in there tomb like bodies. I made my way to a particularly dark alley to relieve myself. As my hot urine flowed out I startled as I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I almost wet myself. But then this was the least of my concerns when I saw movement in the other direction. On the lighter side I saw what looked like someone wearing a Chinese Lion head, and in the darkness of the alley on the other side I saw two glowing eyes. As the Lion head moved closer It seemed as though it were in fact real, and not someone in a costume at all. Steam came off it's nostrils as it stalked closer, black as night and wild eyes of an enlightened insanity not of this world.
The two eyes from deeper into the alley dissappeared as that lion leaped over and joined the other. I turned and found that the dead end wall I had seen earlier was gone. I tucked my stuff away without zipping up my pants and started springting into the darkness. I slipeed on ice and fell forward rapidly, sliding down then up and sideways faster and faster. The lions pursuing me began to vanish and I slid out of control until I only felt cold hard ice sliding and bumping against my body. I passed in and out of consciousness as I slid until I awoke on frozen snow, hard and unforgiving. I saw buildings that looked like housing projects thirty feet away and made my way towards them zipping up my fly finally as I walked.
